Client Devices Officer
About the Role
This role is critical to delivering the client devices related work streams under the Managed Service (Win10) Rollout Project. This is a high priority Project due to the security element, with the ambition to eliminate the unmanaged/self-managed devices across the Faculty Schools and Institutes. The ultimate aim is to convert these devices to QM managed devices and actively promote and adapt QM managed service across Queen Mary.
The successful candidate should be a self-motivated IT professional looking to work in a challenging and changing environment delivering a robust, resilient and secure Client devices service/solution.
We are looking for practical experience and knowledge in the majority of the following:
Knowledge of endpoint mobility solutions to provide a seamless user experience across the desktop, laptop, tablets to smartphones
Good technical knowledge and practical experience in the following:
- Microsoft Windows OS
- Microsoft SCCM/Intune
- Windows Application Packaging
- Microsoft 365
- Active Directory
Good understanding of general protocols and standards TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS and other common network protocols.
Build common application packages deployable within an SCCM environment
Responsible for process and procedures for application packaging and documentation.
Develop software installation scripts (use of PowerShell preferred) for complex software installations
Assist clients and business owners in advanced level software installation package distribution troubleshooting
Update/Create documentation as needed (user guides, admin guides, knowledge base articles, FAQs)
Work closely with client to perform technical and requirements analysis
Ability to work with both technical and non-technical people
Applicants shall have substantive practical experience & skills in the appropriate categories, including customer engagement skills with continual improvement in customer experience, delivering to define Service Levels Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Ideal candidate shall have the ability to work under pressure including providing expert advice and third line support, along with the ability to acquire new skills/ expertise and working collaboratively across teams and departmental boundaries.

The IT Services function sits within the Professional Services Department and is part of the professional services group that enable and facilitate the success of our students and academics.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full time, fixed term appointment for 20 months, with an immediate start date. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £38,084 - £44,807 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
