The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability in Putney is a leading national centre of excellence for acquired brain injury and complex neuro-disability. We have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join our large and supportive Clinical Psychology team. The successful candidates will be able to access the learning and opportunities that come with being a national centre of excellence including on-site specialist CPD, and opportunities to undertake research and to deliver teaching and training to both clinical and non-clinical staff. The RHN is supportive of psychologists undertaking PGDip courses in Clinical Neuropsychology and QiCN clinical supervision is available on site.
The successful candidates will work with clients who present with cognitive, emotional and/or behavioural challenges in the context of a wide range of physical, sensory and communication difficulties. Clients’ cognitive abilities range from profoundly impaired (disorders of consciousness) to subtle or no impairments (e.g. locked-in-syndrome; Guillain-Barré syndrome). Inter-disciplinary working and supporting families and carers are key aspects of the role. The posts present ideal opportunities to learn how to apply neuropsychology and neuro-rehabilitation skills to clients with complex formulations, and to apply clinical psychology skills to systemic work with families and teams.
RHN offers a wide range of staff benefits, including competitive salary, generous annual leave allowance, staff pension scheme, free on-site parking, cycle-to-work scheme, and on-site staff accommodation (subject to availability). For further information about staff benefits, please contact our recruitment team (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Applications are welcomed from HCPC registered clinical psychologists with an interest in neuropsychology/neuro-rehabilitation. We would also welcome applications from current trainee clinical psychologists who are due to register with HCPC in the near future.
We welcome informal enquiries from anyone who would like to find out more about our team. Please contact our Consultant Clinical Psychologists: Dr Sarah Crawford (email@example.com), or Dr Richard Irwin (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Enhanced disclosure information will be requested from the Criminal Records Bureau in the event of a successful application.
