The organisation has been flying for over 30 years, attending nearly 29,000 missions to those in need of urgent medical attention. We are tasked to over 1000 missions every year and our crews bring lifesaving critical care throughout Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and beyond.
In April 2020, we saw the arrival of our brand new AW169 helicopter, a lifesaving Emergency Department for the skies.
Saving lives is the charitys mission. Despite the pandemic, illness and injury were not put into lock down, and it was incredibly important that the charity operations adapted to make sure the crew and helicopter respond to those in their hour of need.
It costs £5m per year to run the charity which is funded through the amazing generosity of our supporters.

Key Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for producing engaging digital content for the Charity. Working closely with crew, patients, charity staff and volunteers to create editorial for use on social media platforms, and monitor audience engagement.

The Digital Communications Officer will report to Communications and Marketing Manager

Principle Accountabilities of the Role
Content CreationCreate engaging content to be used across a variety of digital channels in line with the Communications and Marketing Strategy.
Film, edit and produce video content to be used across digital communications.
Work closely with the crew, patients and charity staff / volunteers to create videos, editorial, news items and social content.
Natural copy writing ability. Write compelling press releases, newsletters and news features on the charity website, that achieve media coverage.
Maintain the content library in an organised fashion, including all media files, where necessary obtaining written consent for their use.
Social Media
Schedule social media platforms and populate all channels including Facebook, Twitter, Linked In and Instagram, including responding to messages and comments.
Grow social media channels and identify new opportunities, with a particular emphasis on new audience growth.
Produce monthly performance reports on social media growth and engagement.
Patient Case Study PortfolioSeek out and identify new patient case studies, working closely with the crew to identify possible stories, through to interview and producing video / written final stories.
In liaison with the crew, arrange and host patients visiting charity HQ, to meet the paramedics and pilots who were involved in the incident.
Interrogate and analysing the charitys operations database and HEMS produced data, producing monthly mission reports, mission maps and statistics.
Other responsibilities of the rolePlay a lead role in PR events, including taking photographs during a visit to charity HQ or at external locations.
Act as a creative thinker in the Communications & Marketing team, playing a large role in shaping communications campaigns.
Providing a monthly summary report of PR and media delivery to the Communications and Marketing Manager.
