Finance Officer (SEE)

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work directly with stake holders and build relationships across a Faculty producing world class teaching and research?
We are looking for a part qualified accountant/accounting technician or person with strong finance experience to join the Faculty of Environment Finance Office (FFO) and provide financial support and advice across the Faculty, with a particular focus on the School of Earth and Environment (SEE).
The exciting wide-ranging duties of the post will include assisting the Faculty Accountant for SEE with reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and planning for the School of Earth & Environments and being a key contact for the school; resolving and responding to financial questions. The role will also work across the wider Faculty team, supporting with statutory returns, staff appointment forms (PAFs) and providing cover into the faculty operations team as required.
You will have experience of monitoring actual income and expenditure against budget, preparing variance analysis and have excellent IT and analytical skills with a proven ability to use Microsoft Excel effectively. You will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as a team player and to build positive working relationships with a wide range of people. Have an ability to work under pressure and multitask in a busy and varied finance environment.
