Graduate Assistant / Teacher of Music required for September 2022
We are seeking an outstanding Assistant to join a busy and thriving Music Department in one of the country’s leading academic schools which provides a breadth of extra-curricular music opportunities, including twenty regularly rehearsing ensembles. These range from our Symphony Orchestra, three choirs and the Jazz Band to chamber ensembles such as the Saxophone Group, String Camerata and our Junior and Senior Indian Music Ensembles.
The department has recently moved to The Friends’ Recital Hall and Music Rooms which are located in the heart of the School’s campus.
The ideal candidate will be well-qualified, enthusiastic and highly committed, with some experience of rehearsing choral and/or instrumental ensembles.
The successful candidate will be expected to support the work of the Music Department by teaching (with support) some Key Stage 3 lessons, assisting with administration and through leadership of some areas of the extra-curricular programme.
This post might be an excellent opportunity for a candidate interested in gaining some school experience before qualifying as a teacher. The contract of employment will run to the end of the academic year in the first instance.
Salary: Commensurate with skills and experience.
Closing date: 0830 hours on Monday 11 July 2022. Applications will be assessed as they are received and interviews may occur at any stage during the recruitment process.
