Temporary role - 3 months with possible extension
£24.45 per hour PAYE / £32.07 per hour Umbrella
Paid Annual Leave entitlement (PAYE route only)
The council is currently operating a hybrid working policy with a mix of home and office-based working. There will be a minimum requirement of 1-2 days per week for attendance at the council offices.
This role involves working in a very busy corporate communications team delivering a wide range of marketing and communications activity around the council's priorities.

Essential to the role are good campaign planning and organisational skills, delivering activity over the whole range of channels available. Key strengths will include the ability to create high quality and engaging content for use in digital communications including social media, web and video as well as good overall copy writing skills. The ability to understand and use customer insights and identify appropriate tools, channels, messages and approaches for different audiences to drive impactful marketing and communications will be a key part of this role.

In this role, you will normally be working jointly with others in the team on a range of campaigns, specific projects and other programmes of work. Campaigns and projects cover the whole spectrum of the council's activities.

Key accountabilities:

� To work with senior managers and Members to plan, cost and deliver a range of marketing and communications activities to support client departments' business plans and council priorities in liaison with colleagues across the department.

� To be responsible for managing budgets associated with campaigns for which the postholder is the lead and make recommendations on expenditure of up to £100k

� To be responsible for evaluating the marketing and communications activity for which the post holder is the lead and make recommendations for presentation to senior managers.
� Develop new and interesting story ideas and research, write, proof-read and edit copy for media releases and a range of other publications such as residents' magazine Around Ealing, newsletters award entries.

� To analyse and manipulate data and research findings to develop and deliver effective, targeted marketing activities such as direct marketing and advise others on the appropriate marketing response.
� To take a lead role across the department in the implementation of multi-media and digital content, for a range of marketing and communications campaigns.
� To commission a range of print and creative design services and other marketing campaign materials through internal and external suppliers, making detailed recommendations to ensure that creative campaigns meet the council's marketing requirements
� To be responsible for writing and uploading of content to the Council's web-site.
� Use new ideas and creative approaches to proactively promote the council and its services via online channels including e-media, social media and networking sites and monitor what is being said about the council online.
� To manage multi-disciplinary project teams working on campaigns for which the post holder is responsible, including the management of the work of agency or contractor staff
� To establish and maintain effective working communications and liaison with a range of services to create awareness and understanding of the role of marketing and communications and influence the adoption of best practice
� To manage projects to help achieve revenue through sponsorship and advertising, to include the identification of new and innovative opportunities and negotiations with potential sponsorship partner organisations at a senior level
� Attend evening meetings and occasionally attend events outside normal office hours and undertake other duties as directed in line with the overall marketing and communications objectives of the council.

Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns to improve service delivery in a local authority or closely-related environment (KEY)
Demonstrable experience of successful use of research and data analysis, data manipulation and data-base management in a marketing campaign context Demonstrable experience of good project management skills.
Use of MS Office Suite or similar software packages

Essential qualification(s):
An appropriate recognised qualification in Marketing such as the CIM Diploma or similar or equivalent verifiable experience and training (KEY)
