Programme Development Officer

Contract: 2 month Fixed Term – Full-time.
Location: Singleton Park Campus. Working at home will be required.
The College of Human and Health Sciences is a progressive, dynamic and aspirational part of Swansea University, our goal is to provide the highest quality national and internationally recognised health and human sciences education, research, and innovation.
The College is dedicated to the delivery of outstanding, evidence based education for those starting on their health profession journey by undertaking a pre-registration degree programmes leading to professional registration with relevant professional bodies. In addition it provides qualified practitioners professional development courses, master’s degrees and doctoral programmes. We have a national reputation for our expertise in developing advanced, specialist and clinical programmes.
It is our ambition to extend our portfolio of programme and the College is currently preparing a bid for the forthcoming Health Education and Improvement Wales tendering process. Within this bid, we will state our intention to deliver pre-registration degrees for Operating Department Practitioners (OPDs), Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.
The post:
Advise on the nature of the narrative of our bid to HEIW as part of the for the forthcoming tendering process
Identify resources (physical, financial and human) required to deliver a pre-registration BSc for ODPs
Provide preliminary work on the curriculum structure of the BSc programme.

Essential Criteria
A degree in operating department practice and relevant professional experience or qualification
Holding current registration with the HCPC.
Having the ability to teach operating department practice, utilising a variety of teaching methods.
Having the ability to undertake curriculum design and teaching material review.
Having evidence of teaching innovation
Ensuring on-going familiarity with recent developments in relevant practice and policy
