Waterside Academy is a community school in east London, which is 1 minute away from Haggerston over ground train station. We are looking for a School Based Technician â Design & Technology and Art Specialism .
Waterside Academy has embarked on a journey to become outstanding. It is being led by Francis Bray and a highly experienced and skilled leadership team drawn from across the Community Schools Trust.
We have the aim of making Waterside Academy  the best school in Hackney and are already making headway as we work towards this goal.  We received positive feedback from Ofstedâ s recent visit to the school in November 2019 and obtained a 'Good' Ofsted rating this year with the key points summarised below:
â Pupils and staff say that the school is now a different place.â
â In a short space of time, the new head teacher, trust CEO and senior leaders have created a calm place to learn. Pupilsâ behaviour is improving.â
â Leaders have put in place systems and structures to teach pupils how to behave respectfully. Pupils follow school routines at the start of the day and following break and lunchtimes. This enables lessons to begin in an orderly way.â
â Leaders and managers are taking effective action to improve behaviour and secure consistently positive attitudes to learning. Safeguarding arrangements are effective.â
At  Waterside Academy we offer excellent staff support and leadership development, good career progression opportunities and a friendly and dedicated approach to school leadership.
We are a forward-thinking school that has dispensed with formal lesson observations, retrospective book marking and written student exam reports but we have very high standards of care and outcomes. Behaviour is excellent and our students and staff demonstrate our core values of care, challenge, confidence a and courtesy in every interaction.Â
We prefer candidates who are organised, friendly, and who possess a positive work ethic. Having a few good ideas is always welcome. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to be part of a team which will lead Waterside Academy to outstanding and play a key role in helping to transform the school.
The school is a small friendly school.
If you join us you will be part of an aspirational, committed and hardworking team that will look after you and help you progress in your career, with numerous opportunities for career progression across the Community Schools Trust.
