Theatre Practitioner (Ortho)
37.5 hours per week
We are recruiting a Band 6 Scrub Practitioner (Registered Nurse or Registered Operating Department Practitioner) in our Trauma and Orthopaedic theatre within our Theatre Suite.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, engaged and forward thinking practitioner to join our busy, friendly operating team, who will assist in developing our progressive service.
Due to the nature of our work the post will involve working rostered days, weekends, evenings and Bank holidays along with on calls and night duties. Multi-skilling is also encouraged and supported within the department.
You will show initiative, flexibility and have the ability to prioritise and manage the demands of a busy workload. Support will also be given for your personal development.

Who we are looking for
You will be a Registered Operating Department Practitioner or Registered Nurse with HCPC or NMC Registration that currently works in Theatre.
You will have experience of analysing staff and theatre problems and coming up with viable solutions. You will be working as an advanced perioperative practitioner specialising in Orthopaedics and also across other surgical teams. You will also have experience of critically applying the knowledge and skills gained through qualification or experience in advanced surgical practice.
The successful candidates will demonstrate a flexible attitude and will deliver a high standard of quality care within the department. Good communication and organisational skills are essential, with the ability to work within a team to deliver a high quality service to our patients.
The Trust’s operating theatre complex is situated at the acute hospital site, within the Division of Surgery, and consists of 11 theatres. The division of Surgery is active and dynamic, with thriving collaborative working arrangements across South Yorkshire.
The department is able to offer a supportive working environment whilst offering you the experience of caring for elective and emergency surgical patients.
We support operating in a number of specialties, including: ENT, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Maxilla Facial, Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, Colorectal and Breast Surgery. We also support emergency operating and some satellite activity.
